Clean It With Help

pet urine
Rebecca asked:

We just moved into a new house where we only have gravel in the backyard. So of course this is the only place for our 2 dogs to “go potty.” Now that they’ve finally got the hang of going on a big pile or rocks, rather than their usual grass, we have a backyard that wreaks of urine. We just treated the backyard for fleas, so I don’t want to deactivate or decrease the efficiency of the flea treatment…but I do need to get rid of this smell. Any suggestions?

One Response to “How to get pet urine smell out of backyard gravel?”

  1. ND DVM Says:

Try chlorine laundry bleach diluted 1:10 (that’s about 5 tablespoons, or 1/6 cup, per gallon water.) Don’t get it on your clothes!

At least you shouldn’t have a big flea problem with the rocks!

    Good luck.
